Select New Assay
To create a new Assay or Test within QBench you’re going to navigate to the Configuration tab in the top navigation bar
Then select Lab > Assays > and finally New Assay
Enter Title and Method
At this stage you’ll see a list of fields your administrator has designated for you to fill out
In this example I’m going to enter a Title for the Assay
Then I’ll indicate the method used to conduct this assay. This field is not required but often referenced in customer facing reports
Select a corresponding Worksheet if applicable
A worksheet is similar to an excel file. Its a supporting data table used for entering multiple values and or computing any calculations or pass/fail criteria.
You’ll need to build a worksheet for this Assay If you haven’t already. If you’re unsure how to do this please watch our video “How to Configure Worksheets”
Select Technician
From here you can select a Default Technician that will auto populate each time this Assay is created
You can also select a Team which would hide this Assay from view for all other Teams
Select Protocols
Protocols is a mechanism that allows you to enforce specific steps or tasks a Technician must conduct in order to complete the test.
Set Duration
Duration allows the user to specify how long a particular Assay takes to perform. This directly coincides with the Estimated Complete Date function.
Make it available to the lab
Next, by checking the box Active. This new assay will be available for lab use.
Determine customers access
If you’re account is leveraging the customer portal you’ll have the option to indicate whether this Assay should be accessible to customers.
Click Save
To complete your Assay creation click Save.
