DEFERRED
A deferred email address means that the recipient's mail server temporarily refused delivery of the message. We attempt to re-send the email for 3 days and will be marked as FAILED if it cannot reach the recipient.
What causes an email to be deferred?
- The receiving server doesn’t recognize QBench's email address and is afraid you’re sending spam.
- The receiving email server doesn’t have any open ports to receive an email.
- The recipient’s mailbox is full.
- Some recipients have marked your mail as spam, and have blocked QBench's email address or domain
BLOCKED
Email addresses will be automatically blocked under certain conditions if we determine the recipient's email address cannot be reached. Continuous attempts to an unreachable email address hurts our sender reputation and will cause the likeliness of QBench emails to be automatically marked as spam. Contact support if you believe a recipient's email address should be unblocked.
BOUNCED
There are two kinds of bounces:
- Soft-Bounce: A temporary issue was encountered such as the recipient's inbox being full or a connection timeout
- Hard-Bounce: This is a permanent delivery error caused by an invalid email address (e.g. a mistyped email or a non-existent destination server). Hard-bounced emails get blocked for several days.
FAILED
An unknown error occurred. This could be due to either a misconfiguration in your email template or an unexpected error within QBench.
