- Qbench allows for the configuration of Custom IDs in Fields and Data Types. To do this, first click on Configuration, then Application and finally Fields and Data Types.
- This will open the page for customizing data fields in QBench. You will also see a tab labelled Custom IDs. Click this to start creating custom IDs.
- Here, you will be able to set a default prefix for your IDs as well as format for these IDs. A custom ID can be set for Orders, Samples, Sources, Projects or Invoices. A preview for what this will look like is enabled at the top.
- Date Format is selected from a dropdown menu and can include month, year, and date depending on your preference.
- Notably, Sample and Invoice have some different settings for IDs. Below is the page for Sample. The item Enable sub-sample incremented ID means that the ID for a sub sample would look like SA2018-2048-01.
- Invoice, on the other hand, has a allows you to add an order number for an invoice, if you so choose. This would come before any prefix that you have enabled.
