Documents Webinar
The video below feature expert insights, real-world examples, and best practices from our recent webinar series:
Workflow
-
Documents for the lab can be added in the QMS tab if you have QBench's QMS module. Click on QMS and then Documents.
-
You will be brought to the Document Control page.
- If you want to upload a document, click the button shown below.
- This will open a new window where you can choose a new document to upload. If a directory is highlighted and you tick the box next to Create in selected directory, you will save the document in that directory. You can also add Document Name, Description, Tags, and Team. See also teams in User Settings.
- After you have created a document, it will not immediately appear in that folder. This is because the documents tab defaults to Show Approved Documents Only. If you want to see a document, you must click on the option button to Show all.
- When this is chosen, you will be able to see all documents you have created. You will now see documents that are newly created are pending.
- After highlighting a document and clicking Manage you will be brought to a new page with document details. In order to approve the document, we want to click on Versions.
- Clicking on approve will approve the document and make it possible to download from the main page (assuming it is not a team-restricted document or you are a part of the team it is restricted to.)
- Note: this can only be done if your role has the ability to approve documents. Not all users have this ability. Administrators can configure this under User Roles in Settings. See also User Settings.
- Much like documents, you can also create new folders. To do this, click the button shown below.
- Just like documents, you can likewise nest a folder inside of another folder. you can do this either by clicking a folder, then the new file button, and ticking the checkbox next to Create in selected directory or by creating a folder then dragging and dropping it to another folder.
- You can also Search the documents and folders created by clicking on the button shown below. A text input box will appear and allow you to type in document names.
- Finally, you can delete documents and folders by highlighting a document by clicking on it, and clicking on the delete button, shown below.
