Notifications are an easy way to alert users of certain change events within QBench
These notifications will appear in your top navigation bar within the notification module. To enable these notifications, you'll need to navigate to Settings under your name in the upper right hand corner.
Under Notification Settings, check the box for each object you wish to receive notifications for, then click Save. It's important to note that the order, Sample, and test notifications are all triggered by a change in a User Select field.
Within that same object, a User Select field is set up within the Fields and Data type settings. To do this, navigate to configuration application and fields and data types. In my example, I've created my own User Select field at the order level named Reviewer.
The field type should say Object Relationship, and the object type should say User.
Once this is created, a drop down field of all internal users will be displayed at the order level. When this field is selected, it will trigger the notification to be sent to that selected user.
Additionally, from this view, I can also see my assigned locks. Locks is a mechanism where users can prevent any update to an order, sample, or test until an assignee has reviewed that lock and deemed it appropriate to unlock.
You'll receive a notification anytime something meets this criteria.
