QBench is a highly configurable LIMS with endless workflow variations. In this video, we'll be reviewing a common happy path workflow with a single sample from Test Ordering to Results Publishing.
To start this process, an order needs to be placed within QBench. This can be done either by the app in LIMS or by a customer from the Customer Portal. I'll start in the Customer Portal as a customer.
Upon logging into QBench's Customer Portal, go to Order Requests from the top navigation bar, and select New Order Requests.
My QBench Order screen may look different than yours. Enter all order related required fields and click Create Order Request draft.
Now I'll add my samples to the order.
Enter all required fields and click Save Samples.
Lastly, I'll need to add a test or tests to this sample. Click assign assays. Choose between an individual assay or test or a panel, which is a grouping of tests.
Once you've found your test or tests, click Submit
Assign the tests to the sample.
Click submit order. To officially send to the lab and click yes to the warning stating order requests cannot be edited once submitted.
Now I'll log out of the Customer Portal.
Log into the QBench LIMS.
Navigate to the Order List page.
We can see the newly submitted order, indicated by an exclamation point. Select our newly created order.
After reviewing the contents, either approve or reject this order for revision.
Once samples officially arrive in the lab, select the Blue Receive button.
Select Receive Order and Publish to portal to Notify your customer or just select Receive Order only.
Click yes to the warning to continue.
This sample is a session and is ready for sample prep. I'll navigate to Workflow Samples and select my filter for samples that have been received today.
Pull up the sample to conduct various sample prep items like Image upload via attachments.
You can also create subsamples
You can update any QC or sample prep related data. After doing this, indicate when your sample prep is complete to notify whoever is next In the process.
I'll navigate back to Workflow Tests and select my filter.
For tests with Sample Prep complete, click the Test ID batch to navigate into the test itself.
I'll change the technician and the status on my test and click Save.
Now I'll enter my results data into the corresponding QBench worksheet.
Upon Saving, you can see my status automatically update to Completed along with the complete date being populated as well as the overall results field, this sample is now ready to be reviewed and reported on.
I'll navigate back to Workflow Tests and select my filter for Completed tests with no report.
This page allows me to generate and publish reports individually or in bulk. Check the box next to your sample and click your Report dropdown, select Sample, then Generate.
Lastly, to release this report, go to Customer Portal Sample Publish Results.
Confirm the recipients and indicate if you'd like the report to be attached in the email and click Email and Submit.
Now we can see that this sample report has been emailed and published to the Customer Portal on this date and time.
